Speaking
Of Voiceovers...
My
wife says it was my warm telephone voice that convinced
her to go out with me--at least once. Hey, you have
to start somewhere...I've been talking to her ever since--most
of the time! I try to remember that "phone moment" as
I stand in a semi-dark studio speaking into an impersonal
microphone. It reminds me that voiceovers are the art
of talking to people in a personal way.
My
job is to make you comfortable--help you enjoy the moment,
the message, the feeling. I don't think you can make
people feel very comfortable with your words, unless
you're comfortable with yourself, and can draw from
what you have inside to "Get The Word Out!"
These
days, I get the word out by voicing everything from
commercials to promos to documentaries to corporate
narrations for some pretty well known brands, networks
and companies. I'm also the guy asking the questions
on many real people testimonial spots.
